I find my job rewarding when the students flood to the library infused with energy and vitality for books and reading. And which place best to display this-the school library. And this was demonstrated when we celebrated the “International School Library Month”.

After 10 years of celebrating International School Library Day on the fourth Monday of October each year, the change to International School Library Month (ISLM) was approved by the IASL Board in January 2008 to take effect from October 2008. This change coincides with the tenth anniversary of IASL celebrating school libraries. International School Library Month allows those in charge of school libraries around the world to choose a day in October that best fits their specific situation in order to celebrate the importance of school libraries.

And keeping up with the idea we celebrated our Library on 23rd October. It is a day I will remember for a long time as I am overcome with emotions by the way students expressed their understanding of the topic for the celebrations.

Words do not describe a person. I am many things and yet nothing. I am an avid reader, reading her way through the pages of life. Some stories warm the heart and yet others have let me dry. I am a result of my life, and yet my life is part a result of me. Don't try to figure me.
