This story is about three children who are brother and sisters. Their names are Jo, Bessie and Fanny. Their father gets a job in the country, so they shift in to their new cottage. When they reach the cottage they are tired. So they have their supper and then the three children go out for a picnic. As Jo is a naughty boy, he climbs up a tree. And guess what? The tree was enchanted and was in the enchanted wood. As the other children too climb up they get to meet a lot of exciting characters, who suddenly come out of the woods. There in the Enchanted Wood they met Silky, Saucepan, Whatizname, Angry Pixie, Dam wash-a-lot and Moonface. The children visit many magical lands. This land is different on each visit, because each place “moves on” from the top of the tree to make way for a new land .The children are free to come and go, but they must leave before the land “moves on” or they will be stuck there until the land returns to the Faraway Tree.
It’s a delight to read Enid Blyton.

I am exhilarated at your discussing Enid Blyton’s Enchanted Wood. In fact, I discuss this book in a comparative manner with The famous Five in my book Enid Blyton, titled, The Famous Five: A Personal Anecdotage (www.thefamousfiveapersonalanecdotage.blogspot.com).
